There are mainly two types: steel and aluminum alloy. Steel bumpers are strong, highly resistant to impact, and relatively low in cost, but they are heavy. Aluminum alloy bumpers are light, can reduce the weight of the vehicle, improve fuel economy, and have a good appearance, but they are more expensive.
- Functional configuration: Some bumpers are equipped with millimeter-wave radars inside, which are used to achieve active and passive safety functions such as front collision warning and driving assistance functions. There is usually a steel anti-penetration guardrail under the bumper to prevent small cars from getting under the chassis of heavy trucks in case of an accident.
